VMS Announcements
Tuesday, April 14, 2026 • School Day #142
STUDENTS:
Lunch: Chicken Fajitas, Hot Dog, Italian Turkey Sub, Uncrustables, Fruit and Veggie Bar, Milk or Juice
We will be continuing our state NSCAS & Fastbridge testing over the next couple of weeks. Please be sure your chromebooks are fully charged, and may want to bring your charger as well. Be sure to get plenty of sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, be hydrated, and try your best!
Miles of Smiles will be on Thursday, April 23rd. Forms will be handed out to you by your Badger Pause teacher. Miles of Smiles forms are due back to the office or school nurse by April 22nd.
There is a Free Eye and Glasses Clinic this week from 9-4 M-Th and 9-12 on Friday at the SGU Multipurpose building in Mission. See Ms. Crowe for more information.
Registration is now open for the 2026 PGA Jr. League at Frederick Peak and The Prairie Club, a team-based program for boys and girls ages 8–13 of all experience levels who are interested in golf. Visit with Mr. Coleman to sign up before the May 15th deadline.
Track Tuesday in Bassett, starting at 9:30. The bus will leave at 7:30am. All track athletes should meet in the gym lobby at 7:15am.
There is a mandatory meeting on Monday, April 20 for students going on the 6th grade field trip in the VMS Multipurpose room at 6pm.They will use the Wood Street entrance.

The Lutherans are repeating quiz bowl champions for the 2nd year in a row during the community competition. Lots of fun was had by all. Thank you to everyone who came out to participate or to support the teams.
KB would like to thank their families for bringing them to school and helping them stay healthy! This behavior can be connected to the school-wide expectation of being responsible, and it helped them win the VES March Madness Attendance Challenge! The ice cream sandwich reward was extra special during a week in which these Kindergarten students were learning about the long /i/ sound. - Ms. Painter
VMS students will be taking the NSCAS state testing in ELA this week. We encourage students to get plenty of sleep at night and to make healthy meal choices - it makes it difference!
Spring Fling - Join us for our fun run or walk! With all proceeds going to the Sandhills Cancer Foundation Saturday, April 18th with registration starting at 9:00 am and the race beginning at 10:00 am at the Cowboy Trailhead!

Congratulations to Clarrah Beebout for being selected as the Female Athlete of the Meet today @ Sandhills Track Meet in Bassett. Also Congratulations to the Girls Team for winning the meet and the Boys Team for being Runner-Up!
Congrats to Sari, River, and Bella, finalists at FBLA State Leadership Conference! 19 students from VHS will be competing April 16-18, 2026 in Kearney-top 3 in each event earn their way to nationals this June in San Antonio, TX. Support them by shopping The Badger Den!

Help me in congratulating Rylee Ward! Rylee has her Ducks in a Row to attend Wayne State College. She has been accepted into their Rural Health Opportunities Program (RHOP). Rylee will study Pre-Dental Hygiene.
