FBLA Fundraiser - Tuesday 8/27/19. Help us launch FBLA!

Just a reminder that at VES, our breakfast serving time is from 7:40-8:00. The first bell is at 8:10, and class starts at 8:15. If your child is eating breakfast, it is best to drop them off prior to 8:00 so they can have enough time to sit down and eat all of their breakfast!

The Valentine TeamMates Mentoring Program Chapter is doing a raffle fundraiser. They will be raffling 2 Nebraska Cornhusker vs. Indiana football tickets (October 26, 2019). The drawing date will be on September 27, 2019 at the VHS Home football game. You do not need to be present to win. Tickets are $5.00 per ticket or $20.00 for 5 tickets. First day of school for students Thursday! The first bell rings at 7:55. We are excited for students to return for the new school year!

We will be doing concussion testing for all Freshmen and Juniors that will be participating in athletics on Tuesday August 13th @ 1:30 in the commons area. Please bring your chrome book which will be checked out on Monday.

Mark you calendars! Tom Osborne will be coming to Valentine on Friday, August 23 to speak about the TeamMates Mentoring Program at the Peppermill Restaurant from 12:00-1:00pm. Bring a friend!

Valentine Elementary School is trying something new this year! We are hosting a parent informational night on Monday, August 19, at 5 pm and again at 6 pm.
Parent Informational Night will give parents/guardians a chance to learn about the Nebraska Reading Improvement Act, procedures at the elementary, changes to the handbook and our schedule, our report card, etc. At 5 p.m., 1st-3rd grade parents/guardians are asked to attend, and at 6 p.m., 4th-5th grade parents/guardians are asked to attend. Parents are encouraged to only attend one session if you have a student in both lower elementary and upper elementary, and if you have a student in kindergarten, you do not need to attend. The nurse, secretary, and counselor will be on hand as well to discuss a few things.
