Check out this link with a video of Mrs. Keller's VMS fifth graders' first major social studies research project that required extensive investigation of North America's Native American tribes circa 16th and 17th centuries. The students' diligence resulted in quality research reports and creative dioramas that authentically depicted the tribes' lives. Great work, fifth graders! https://youtu.be/VO50tsdO0jc

CHI Ticketing Information for the 2021 NSAA State Wrestling Championships In the observance of best safety practices and the assurance of social distancing, the ticketing process for the 2021 NSAA State Wrestling Tournament will look different than prior years. • First, tickets will be sold individually (as opposed to by team and/or school) on Ticketmaster.com; • All ticket sales will be purchased digitally and received digitally; • To limit potential touchpoints, physical tickets are no longer available; • Tickets may be purchased in pods of two or four, pods may not be split; • All of the tickets within a pod must be purchased; • Availability will be based upon approved capacity from the State Governor’s Office and Douglas County Health Department (DCHD). Tickets will be sent to a purchaser via email. For entry, a guest may either access tickets directly from their email inbox or by utilizing the Ticketmaster smartphone app. CHI Health Center Omaha staff members can scan a QR code directly from a visitor’s smart device. Guests will keep their phone(s) in their own possession at all times. MECA and the NSAA continue to collaborate on and determine needed modifications in order to receive necessary approval from local health officials for the 2021 tournament. The event plan will be submitted to the Douglas County Health Department the first week in January and the plan is for tickets to go on sale at 10 AM on January 19th. More information will become available in the new year; until then, CHI Health Center Omaha is thankful for the community’s patience and understanding while we all navigate the uncertainties of this pandemic. We jointly remain committed to taking the appropriate steps in order to ensure a safe and successful event.

The NSAA has come out with new attendance guidelines. We like most schools are currently working on a plan to figure out the best way to handle the increased capacity. We have been in contact with all the schools that we compete against this week and will pass on information as we receive it. As of now this is what we have: 2/7 - JV Wrestling @ Gothenburg 4:30. 2 Fans per wrestler and you must be on the list that the coaches will submit. The event will be live-streamed @ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpSg9QMoJtUkc-az4UkPcFA/featured

What an act of kindness the employees of VCS were shown recently by generous people of this wonderful community. A mug filled with goodies was presented to all employees. Jan Smith, Tammy Lutter, and Scott McClellen visited all buildings to thank us for what we’ve done during this pandemic. Thank you to the community of Valentine for your support!
