Congratulations to VES 3rd grade student Gunnar Fernau! He earned 2nd place in the 2023 Severe Weather Awareness Poster Contest, which is a statewide contest. You can see his incredible artwork in one of the photos. Gunnar and his family were recognized by Governor Pillen yesterday at a ceremony at the Capitol! Thanks to Mrs. Krueger for having her students participate in the contest, Cherry County Emergency Management for sponsoring the contest here, and Gunnar's parents, Sara and Trenton, for encouraging Gunnar in his artwork. Way to go, Gunnar; you make VES proud!
