The D3 District Cross Country championship meet was held in Ainsworth. The top three teams and the top 15 individuals qualify for the state meet held at the Kearney Country Club on October 20, 2023. Valentine boys qualified for the state meet after placing third. One point separated Elk Horn Valley, Boyd County and Valentine. Grant Springer led the Badgers placing second in a time of 17:46..40. Will Sprenger was12th, Isaac Cronin, 16th, Deklin Titus, 20th, and Isaac Utecht was 23rd. All five runner were in the top 25.
Valentine’s girl’s team was sixth. The Ainsworth girls won the meet; North-Central was the runner-up; and West Holt finished third. Sophomore, Christen Larsen-Malard led the Badger team followed by Freshman Paige Sprenger, Lexi Long and Samantha Sprenger.
Join Jessa and Kinsey in donating stuffed animals to children of all ages. These stuffed animals will be donated to Valentine and the surrounding areas. They are accepting donations at the Pink out tournament this weekend! The tournament is Saturday and starts at 10:30! Come support the badgers and help the girls! Thank you!

This morning, Mrs. Cardinal's Business Communication class and Sandhills State Bank representatives came to VES to help kickoff the opening of the Badger Branch of Sandhills State Bank. Our K-4 students are blessed to have this opportunity to save their money and create great habits for their future. Please check your child's red folder for the parent permission letter (which is also featured here). It explains more about this wonderful program!
Our Badger Branch will be supported by Mrs. Cardinal and her students in Business Communication class, Zane Limbach, Emily Hatterman, Valerie Matulka, and Kyle Arganbright of Sandhills State Bank, and our very own 14 bank tellers who are current 4th graders at Valentine Elementary! We will do an official ribbon cutting on October 12, and our opening day of Badger Branch will be October 26!
