A group of juniors went to AKRS in Ainsworth yesterday to learn about possible careers and scholarship opportunities. We had a great time!






The Badger Effort Award is based on the school's character education. Students who demonstrate Character In Action (CIA), responsibility, accountability, honesty, empathy, and respect were nominated by their classroom teachers and staff. Southwest Conference Fine Arts Festival today in Holdrege. VHS art students had art displayed, attending 4 workshops, and were in a mural competition. Great day!

Valentine Middle School would like to welcome Ronna Pinney! Miss Pinney will be teaching 6th and 7th grade Social Studies next year, picking up the baton from retiring teacher, Mrs. Gass.
Miss Pinney has been teaching for 33 years and for the past 20 years, was a 5th grade teacher at Harvey Dunn Elementary in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Fun Fact!: Miss Pinney grew up in Wood Lake and graduated from Valentine High School! She continued her education at the University of Nebraska Lincoln and the University of Sioux Falls.

VMS Spring Music Concert next Tuesday!


VHS senior Bella Ringhoff, one of the high school staff members for our after school program, was part of a leadership council through Beyond School Bells this fall. She then was part of a high school staff panel for after school programs across Nebraska at the Beyond School Bells conference last week. We are so proud of her! Way to represent Valentine and youth voice!
