The VMS Quiz Bowl Team went 2-1 today at the ESU 17 competition.

Attention senior parents/guardians! Your students have all been warned and this is their LAST chance! If their name appears on this list that means they have not completed the Google Form that was sent by the Yearbook Staff on December 7th. Some of them may only be missing part of the submission but nonetheless. Please have them check with Olena F. or Mrs Arganbright. We'd hate for them to not make it in the yearbook.
We would like to welcome Jamie Elliott to Valentine Elementary! Jamie will be teaching 1st grade as Mrs. Parks will be moving into the position of ELL Coordinator for VES and VMS.
Mrs. Elliott has been teaching for 16 years. She has taught second and third grade for 15 years at Westside schools in Omaha, Nebraska, and is currently a first grade teacher at Todd County Elementary. She attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, and received her Masters degree from Doane University.
Mrs. Elliott loves to spend time outdoors, camping, golfing, and ice fishing. Mrs. Elliott is married to Jay Elliott, Valentine Elementary's new principal.
We are so excited to have Mrs. Elliott at VES!
We would like to welcome Darci Arnold to Valentine Elementary! Darci will be teaching Kindergarten as Mrs. Muirhead will be moving down the hallway to first grade next year as Ms. Harte retires.
Mrs. Arnold has been teaching at Todd County Elementary School for the last 10 years, as a first grade teacher and then as a literacy interventionist. She spent many years prior to that as a gymnastics teacher.
Mrs. Arnold attended Wood Lake, Valentine Middle School, and Valentine High School. She graduated from Western Governors University. Some of her favorite things are spending time with her family (husband Luke and sons Collins and Atlas), reading books, camping, and going to concerts.
We are so excited to have you at VES!

Congratulations to the Quiz Bowl team for an awesome performance on March 27th at the Gordon-Rushville tournament. The Varsity team of Grant, Marybelle, Sari, and Landen placed 4th out of 8 teams with a total of 470 points. The J.V. team of River, Leighton, Isaac, and Alan placed 3rd out of 7 teams with a total of 380 points. Also, Landen and Isaac earned spots on their respective All Tournament teams. This is a huge honor as they were recognized as being among the top 8 competitors among all the teams present. The Quiz Bowl team's next competition will be on April 3rd at the ESU 17 tournament.
Another senior with his Ducks in a Row! Traven Fletcher has joined the Army National Guard and plans to attend the University of Nebraska at Kearney. He would like to study Business. Great job, Traven!

The Valentine Community Schools Board Committee on American Civics will meet Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 4:00 P.M. in the VHS board room. The public is invited to attend and become aware of our social studies curriculum that's being taught.
