
Our dual credit event management class has been working all year to host a fabulous all-day conference on Monday for all the students and staff. The community has been a huge support and has funded this special day. Thank you, thank you, thank you. We are excited!!!

7th Grade Tree Planting - Monday, May 6th - Bring a shovel to school!


VES families, please plan to attend our annual family engagement night, Beach Bash, TONIGHT, 5:30-7:00 pm. It is open house style and will be a lot of fun! To help with the flow of people, Kindergarten families please enter through the front door, 1st and 2nd grade families enter through your (south) doors, and 3rd and 4th families enter through the 3rd grade (north) doors. Go in the door of your youngest student if you have more than one! We hope to see you here!

Field Events AND Running Events will start @ 10am this Friday for Greg Gass Invite.

Registration for Badger Cub Club summer programming is open. It is for K-4 students, and it runs from May 28-June 28, 8 am-12 pm Monday-Friday. Please contact the VES office to get a registration form. We will be stopping registration on the last day of school, May 16.

5th & 6th Grade Track Meet


Kinsey Buechle has her Ducks in a Row! She will attend Central Community College in Columbus. Kinsey will study General Studies and has signed to play basketball for the college! We are so proud of you!


From VMS Golf Coaches, Coach McSweeney & Coach Epke: Valentine welcomed North Central and Ainsworth over to play at Freddy's on Tuesday, April 30th. It was a bit breezy, but overall a good day of golf! We appreciated all the hands that helped make our tournament successful. We want to send a shout out to Megan and Jacob for getting the clubhouse and course ready to go and for meeting our needs! A special thanks to Lonnie Coleman, Steve Isom, Bernie Eklund, Randy Borer, Wally Balliet and Dick Jeffers for shuttling our kids around the course. Last but not least, thank you to the parents who baked treats and were willing to lend a hand wherever we needed them!
There was a total of 47 golfers and our Valentine medalist were: Trevor Two Strike (2nd place with a 39), Westin Witte (5th with a 43), Aiden Buckendahl (8th with 46) and Parker Wackler (14th with 51).
Not lagging far behind the top 15 were Austin Deibler who shot a 52, Raken Tinant who shot a 54 and Kassie Hanson who shot a 56.
Our Top three girls this week were Austin Deibler, Kassie Hanson and Mady Bopp.



Students can pick up their free ticket in the office and additional tickets can be purchased at the office, Sandhills state bank or American Family!

VES Badger Cub Club after school programming is canceled tomorrow, Thursday May 2. It is also cancelled next week Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday (May 7, 8, and 10) due to other events in the building. Please pick up your child on those days at 3:25 pm when we dismiss.

Congratulations to Traven Fletcher, Tyler Whiting, and Michell Kleunder for becoming American Welding Society certified welders!
A huge thank you to Russell Pontarolo, the welding technology instructor at Western Nebraska Community College for providing is with the opportunity as well as Mr Nollette helping the students practice their welds to prepare for the tests.


VMS & Rural Schools Honors Day Program will be held at 7pm on Tuesday, May 14th at the high school gym. Students in the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades will be recognized for their achievements throughout the school year.


Senior Day for Senior Track Athletes will be this Friday @ approx. 12:45pm of our Track Meet.

VHS will recognize Academic All-State Recipients @ approximately 12:20pm this Friday @ our Track Meet.

Admission will be charged for this Friday's Greg Gass Track Invitational. Adults -$5, Students $4. Admission will help cover the cost of FAT System, Starter, and MS/HS medals/trophies. HS/MS Activity Passes will be accepted.
