Valentine Community Schools is excited to announce Brooks Coleman as the Head Boys Golf Coach for 2025-2026. Coach Coleman steps into the role after the retirement of long time coach, Devin Muirhead.
An introductory message from Coach Coleman:
My name is Brooks Coleman, and I’m proud to introduce myself as the new head golf coach at Valentine High School. I’m a 2015 graduate of VHS, and I’ve had a passion for the game of golf ever since I was a kid learning and playing out at Deer Park Golf Course.
I graduated from Valentine in 2015 as a three-time state qualifier, finishing 14th at the state tournament my senior year. After high school, I continued my golf career at Northeast Community College before finishing my education at UNK. I began coaching in Hyannis, where our team made its first-ever appearance at the state tournament and had the school’s first state medalist.
For the past four years, I’ve had the chance to return home and serve as an assistant under Devin Muirhead—the coach who guided me during my own time as a Bader golfer. To now take over the program he built is a humbling and meaningful opportunity. It truly feels like a full-circle moment.
Golf has given me so much throughout my life—not just in competition, but in discipline, relationships, and personal growth. I’m excited to help shape those same experiences for our student-athletes and build on the proud tradition of Valentine golf.

All 7-12th grade students who plan to participate in any sport for the 25-26 school year must have an annual sports physical. Physical forms are available in the high school office and must be filled out before your appointment.
Valentine Elementary general list of school supplies attached, some grade level and classroom specific items may also be listed on your welcome back letters that will be mailed at the end of next week.
Attention Student Council or any Valentine Student that would like some community service hours, you could help with the first Valentine Marathon, August 2nd, hosted by Valentine graduate, Mark Gudgel. The proceeds from this race will go towards the Valentine Community School's Foundation (the one that offers scholarships and helps support many Badgers throughout their time at VCS).

Lockers are only assigned to those who contact Mr. Cronin. You can ask for a locker anytime throughout the year, but if you'd like to have one assigned to you before the first day of school, now is the time to let him know.

Summer weights for both high school and junior high is running today (6/30) and tomorrow (7/1). Summer weights closes for the rest of the week and Monday and Tuesday next week for the 4th of July. Summer weights will reopen on 7/9 for both high school and junior high.
