May is Mental Health Awareness Month

Rylie Sexson has her Ducks in a Row! She plans to attend Colby Community College in Colby, Kansas. Rylie will be a part of the Rodeo Team and study Equine Science. We are so proud of you, Rylie!

Valentine hosted Ainsworth and North Central at Frederick's Peak on Tuesday, May 6th. It was a beautiful day for our 50+ Middle School golfers to play. Valentine placed 8 golfers in the top 15.
Jacob Nickish 15th (51), Hayden Weinman 14th (50), Colin Bailey 12th (48), Nash Hesse 11th (47), Aiden Buckendahl 10th (47), Trevor Two Strike 4th (40), Mason Hamilton 2nd (36) and Parker Wackler 1st (36).
We want to thank everyone who helps make our tournament a success! We appreciate Denee Limbach, Lonnie Coleman, Hart Johnson, Steve Hamling, Mike Hamling, Steve Isom and Rusty Burge for shuttling our kids around the course! Thank you to parents for supplying baked goods for the golfers and helpers and just being willing to step in when needed. Shout out to Megan and Jacob for having the course ready (looking beautiful) and being available for all of our clubhouse needs! We finish our season next week in Ainsworth!


Next week's MS Boys/Girls Golf @ Ainsworth is now a 10:00am start.

VES would again like to invite all families to join us Thursday night! If you plan to attend, please park on the side streets or at the high school. Our main parking lot will be blocked off for stations, activities and food vendors. Please bring cash if you plan to eat, Hoebe's Smoke n Meats will be on site with a couple meal options. We look forward to celebrating the end of the school year with our families, see you Thursday!

Senior Day for Track Athletes will be @ NOON this Friday immediately before the start of Running Events.
VES 4th graders visited the Middle School today for a tour of the building and to get an idea of what the school year will look like for them next year as 5th graders!

VMS 6th graders hit the road early this morning for the annual 6th Grade Field Trip!
Students will visit the following notable sites over the next 3 days:
• The Great Platte River Road Archway Monument in Kearney
• The Nebraska State Capitol in Lincoln
• Morrill Hall, University of Nebraska State Museum, in Lincoln
• Husker Memorial Stadium in Lincoln
• Husker Baseball vs. Creighton in Lincoln
• The Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha

Congratulations to Isaac Cronin and Paige Bortner of McCook selected as athletes of the 2025 SWC Track Meet. Isaac won the high jump with a jump of 6'9 breaking the school and tying the SWC record, first in the 300 hurdles 39.58, and earned second in the long jump 21'5.5" and 110m hurdles with a time of 14.97. Paige was the runner-up in the 800, 400, and 4x400. Her 4x800 relay team beat the SWC record by 15 seconds with a time of 9:47.42.
Congratulations to all the Badger athletes today. The boys finished 4th, and the girls finished 7th. Many student athletes broke personal bests, season bests, and records on the track today! Your coaches are proud of you!!
