VHS All School Kahoot

VMS Students, Parents, Guardians, please plan on coming to the middle school to return and pick up materials on Friday from 8:00-2:00. Some students will need to clean out their locker. We will only allow a few individuals into the building at a time so please be patient.

VES parents/guardians,
Regarding picking up materials on Friday- at this time, we are not collecting items back, such as worksheets. The only thing we ask back for at this time are library books. We will be sending home all of your children's items at this time and will have it ready to go much like how we did last Friday. To show your child's progress this week on their educational activities, we are asking you to take a photo of your child's choice board when done and email that to their teacher. More information will be coming as we proceed forward for how they will be turning in their work.

VES parents/guardians,
We will do another pick-up of materials and plans on Friday this week. Parents of kindergarten and 1st grade, come from 3-4 pm, 2nd and 3rd grade from 4-5 pm, and 4th and 5th grade from 5-6 pm. More information to come for how students will turn in work, but for this week, please remember to take a photo of your child's choice board and email it to his/her teacher. If you're still needing to check out a laptop, you can do that on Friday as well.

VES parents and guardians, thank you for your patience as we work to plan more for the alternative learning environment our students will be in for the remainder of the calendar year. More information will be coming very soon as we want to clearly communicate directions to parents. For now, students can continue to work on their choice boards, and you will hear from us soon.

Parents/guardians,
You can sign up your child for ABC Mouse, Adventure Academy, and Reading IQ for free right now. Follow the directions in the handout posted here, and use our school code to redeem. Make sure to put Valentine Community Schools as the district, and Valentine Elementary as the school.

Based on recommendations from NCDHD and NDE, VCS will not plan to return to school for the remainder of the 2019-2020 year. Students with staff support will continue the alternative learning environment format. The situation will be monitored and adjustments made when possible.

Valentine Community Schools will start serving free pre-packaged lunches for children beginning today, March 24th.
The drive-through pickup will take place at Valentine High School and Valentine Middle School from 11:30am – 12:00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays for all children ages 18 and younger. Lunch will be provided in bags with Tuesday’s bag containing lunch for 2 days and Thursday’s bag containing lunch for 3 days.
Middle school pickup will be in front of the middle school on Wood Street. High School pickup will be in the parking lot on the south side of the high school.
Guidelines:
>Children must be in the vehicle to receive their bag of food.
>Please do not park and get out of your vehicle.
>Please do not consume meals on site.
>The number of children in the vehicle will determine the number of meals each vehicle gets.
>Meal distribution will begin promptly at 11:30am and end at noon.

Creating is a fantastic activity for coping. If ANY student is interested in creating and needs art supplies, please email Mrs. Swim. She also has supplies for book folding for those who took that session during Victor E. Days.
