SAFESCHOOL ONLINE DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP COURSES... Valentine High School students should have received an email from SafeSchools through their school account. This is a digital citizenship course that replaces the COPPA test we have always taken in school. All students need to complete before they have access to the schools devices and network. If you don't have a device that can access the internet, please call the high school or email Mr. Cronin at acronin@vcsbadger.net.

VES Suggested School Supply List 2020-2021
You should have received this list with your student's report card, and you will receive it in the mail again. It is here for your reference as well!

Valentine High School graduated class of 2020 will be having a ceremony on Friday, July 31 at 4:00 PM tentatively at the high school gym.
Due to the North Central Health District Directive Health Measures, Valentine High School has to work under the following guidelines for their “mock” graduation for the class of 2020.
*50% of maximum capacity
*Parties, aka ticketed groups, at a gathering cannot exceed 8 individuals
*Maintain at least 6ft of separation between ticketed groups
These measures are effective through 11:59 PM, July 31, 2020; unless renewed, extended, or terminated by subsequent order, all persons in Cherry, Keya Paha, Brown, Rock, Boyd, Holt, Knox, Antelope, and Pierce counties are ordered to comply.
Valentine high school’s plan includes the following:
-A Google form will be sent to the senior students and parents through our SMS system. RSVP’s will be required from the students of the class of 2020. These RSVP’s are due by Wednesday, July 15. Any RSVP’s returned post deadline will not be accepted as plans to move forward rely on the number of students attending the event.
-Those who RSVP will be provided with 8 tickets in the form of waivers. 7 of those tickets can be given to people the graduate would like to attend the ceremony. The 8th ticket will be filled out by the student and will be the 8th member of the party during the entire event. Once these tickets are handed out their list cannot change. For instance, an individual becomes ill and cannot attend, their ticket is not transferable.
-The days leading up to the event the individuals of tickets groups are asked to stay home if they have been ill or have symptoms (including: fever, sore throat, dry persistent cough, shortness of breath, new loss of taste or smell, etc.).
-Only those with signed waivers (tickets) will be allowed to attend the ceremony. Those tickets will be collected at the door and those parties will be expected to maintain a 6ft distance from other parties inside and outside the facilities.
-All members of a party are asked to arrive at the same time to be able to enter the building and minimize possible exposure.
-The parties will have groups of chairs 6ft apart from other parties on the auditorium floor. Parties will be required to sit in their group from beginning to end.
-Seniors will sit with their families during the ceremony as a part of their party.
-During the ceremony the graduated students will walk across the stage and move their tassel and return to their seat. Nothing will be exchanged with the student.
-Speeches will be performed by the selected individuals if they plan on attending.
-Due to the restrictions there will be no band or choir during the ceremony.
-Each individual party will be dismissed starting with the party closest to the exit. Again, this is to insure that the parties maintain correct social distancing.
-There cannot be any group pictures taken due to the 6ft social distancing restriction.
-Each party will be allowed 1 (one) member to be able to take pictures when their student is on the stage during the moving of the tassel.
-All seniors who RSVP will be required to participate in the ceremony practice that will be held on July 30 at 4:00 PM at the high school gym.
-Seniors will be expected to be dressed in appropriate attire and wear their cap and gown with tassel.
