The one-act team plans to compete at the Gothenburg Invite on Tuesday, November 17. However, Gothenburg's Covid protocol will not allow for additional audience members to attend. Our cast/crew list (along with directors) are the only permissible attendees. Thank you for your understanding, and we will update you with any further updates.

Tonight at Midnight the Governor's new health directives will go into effect until November 30th. Some of these will have an impact on how we conduct our home events. We currently are allowed to have 50% capacity but with the new restrictions we have to move that to 25% capacity. So what that means that for MS games we are going to allow each player 2 tickets. The tickets can only used by people that live in the same household of the athlete - they can't be shared with anyone else per Governor's directive. Those in attendance must sit with their family members and social distance from other families (6 ft). We are also working on ways with other upcoming events to try to conduct them the best way possible Mask are required for all of these events. We ask that you do your best to follow the directives as it is helping keep our students in school and activities. We will continue to adjust as new measures come out. Thanks for your cooperation.

Due to weather conditions, Valentine Elementary, Middle & High Schools will start at 10:00am today, November 9th.
Due to the elevated risk in our community and in following our Return to School protocol, the college visit to Chadron State College and Western Nebraska Community College scheduled for November 12 has been cancelled. Seniors who had signed up for this visit will be given 1 additional excused day to visit a college of their choosing. We plan to reschedule the trip during the spring for the juniors who had signed up for this visit.
Due to Covid-related issues, the one-act team will not be traveling to the Ord Festival on Monday, November 9. The team's next competition is scheduled for Tuesday, November 17 in Gothenburg.

Nov 5th - Gordon/Rushville MS Wrestling is not allowing any fans.
Nov 10th - Valentine MS Wrestling Invite - each athlete will be given 2 tickets to distribute to who they want to attend. Tickets have to be presented at the gate to be allowed in. NO EXCEPTIONS. Admission will have to be paid with your ticket.
Nov 10th - Valentine Girls vs North Central in basketball. Each student will be given 4 tickets to distribute to who they want to attend. Tickets have to be presented at the gate to be allowed in. NO EXCEPTIONS. Admission will have to paid with your ticket.
Nov 14th - MS Wrestling at Chadron. Each athlete will be allowed to have 2 people in attendance. Those attending must check in with the person at the gate and identify which student they are there for.
"Valentine High School has a deep appreciation for Mr. Cochran"
Valentine High School wants to show our appreciation for Mr. Bryson Cochran. Mr. Cochran started off at Valentine Community Schools as a paraprofessional at the elementary school and then came over to the high school and worked with several kids helping in them both in and out of the classroom. This summer Mr. Cochran's work ethic and effort that he poured into his responsibilities didn't go unnoticed by other staff members, teachers and administration.
Valentine High School is currently without two custodians and Mr. Cochran has taken the bull by the horns and continues to work and get all the things done that need to be done which also still includes one period a day being a paraprofessional.
Perhaps the quality that stands out most is that he not only takes on more responsibility with broader shoulders, but does it with an infectious positive attitude and a smile on his face.
We encourage everybody that the next time you see this man to thank him for all the hard work and dedication to the students of Valentine High School!
