VMS Student Council is hosting a "VMS Teacher and Staff Member of the Month" throughout the the 24-25 school year. All students in the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades vote in each category and get to learn a little more about their teachers and staff!

REMINDER: VES Picture Day is Tuesday, September 10. Picture packets can be turned in to the office or to your student's classroom teacher. Our annual Student Health Checks will be completed on Sep. 10 as well, with a follow up day on Sep. 13.
VES Students participated in the Miles of Smiles Day this week. We had over 90 students receive a dental screening and fluoride application. Students learn about the importance of brushing their teeth and earned a free toothbrush of their choice along with free toothpaste!

Ft. Niobrara Wildlife Refuge was VMS fifth graders’ destination today to learn about all things bison. Knowledge gleaned included information on the Ogallala Aquifer, differentiation of antlers, horns, and pronghorns, grazing control, use of the refuge for bison management, Native American bison artifacts, as well as meteorological reasons for migration.
