Valentine Community Schools

Students and Parents: Valentine High School is requiring any student who owes work to come in Friday, December 18 during teacher in-service. School will start at 8:00am and they will go to their first period class to work on assignments that aren't finished. They will be dismissed once they have satisfactorily completed their homework or until 11:30am. Lunch will not be provided on this day. Any students who still owe work after Friday, December 18 will then be required to come to school on December 21 and December 22 (8:00 am to 11:55) to complete the work. There is a list of student who owe work hanging in the office window so please communicate with your students to be sure you are aware of what they owe.

Basketball Senior Parent's night will be December 8th when we play Mullen. The girls will do theirs between the JV and Varsity Girl's game and the Boys will do theirs after the boy's warm-ups. We are doing Seniors only.

Activity Changes Valentine Girls JV will only be playing 3 quarters until further notice due to our low numbers. Tuesday Dec 8 there will be no JV boys game due to Mullen's low numbers.

Next week we will be attending 3 events in O'Neill. Here are the rules for attending those events: Mask are required over mouth and nose. Limited Concession Please leave gym immediately after the event. Seating in old gym will be on the stage and in the new gym will be on the west side. Specifics for each event: JV/V Basketball Each player will be allowed 4 family members. Families are to sit together and 6 feet away from another family. Players will give 4 names to their coaches on who will attend and you will have to check in when you enter from the south doors. MS/HS Wrestling Each wrestler will be allowed 2 family members. Wrestlers will need to give the names of attendees to their coaches. Family members will have to check in upon arrival at the south doors. Families are to sit together and social distance the best they can with people from the same community.

Congratulations to Kane Fowler for signing with Midland University today. He received a scholarship to play golf for the Warriors. Kane will be majoring in secondary education.

Way to go Badgers! The VHS students donated 401 lbs. during the canned food drive that the Student Council and FBLA hosted. Results by class: 4th-sophomores with 55 items 3rd-freshmen with 75 items 2nd-seniors with 111 items 1st-juniors with 113 items #NE1kFBLA

Picture retakes will be Wednesday, December 2, from 4-6 p.m. at Adamson's Studio.

Ainsworth MS Wrestling Invite on 11/24 will start at 2pm. Team will depart at 12:15pm. Wrestlers will need to eat SECOND lunch shift. Please pack food/water as there will be no concessions. Be dressed and ready before departing VMS as locker rooms will not be available.

VMS Student Council will have a meeting Tuesday, November 24th at 7:30 a.m. in the VMS Library. Please plan to attend if you are a member.

Hit Main Street for the Holiday Preview on Sunday and stock up on Badger gear for Christmas gifts! The Badger Den will be outside Nelsen's Furniture from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday, November 22nd!

On December 2nd at 6 pm we are going to have a parent meeting to discuss attendance at home basketball games. We understand the importance to be here to support your children and we have came up with a strategy to maximize those numbers. We ask that at least 1 parent of each student playing high school basketball be there. With your cooperation we can maximize the amount of family we have at games. Please also understand that attendance rules can change at anytime to coincide with the Governor's restrictions.
