Billboard

Valentine Middle School's own science teacher, Mrs. Solveig Perrett participated in the STEAM in the PARK 2021 this last summer and is now featured on a "Compassion. Pass It On!" billboard as part of the STEAM in the PARK ambassadors group.

STEAM in the PARK's website states, "Our mission is to encourage educators to engage students in thoughtful, real-world problems that challenge our world today using the National Parks and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as inspiration."

STEAM in the PARK 2021 Acadia was the first of many adventures for teachers to get together and collaborate. We use one of the UN's sustainability goals as a focus and look at how we can impact our students and the world. STEAM in the PARK 2022 registration opens in January with the potential to impact 245 educators (participants) at 8 national parks, 8000+ students, and multiple educators (colleagues).
The parks on the 2022 schedule are: Niobrara National Scenic River, Acadia National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Crater Lake , Great Smokey Mountains, Mammoth Cave, National Mall, New River Gorge.
