AWARE Grant Project Manager for Valentine Community Schools 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

● Functions as a core member of a collaborative care team that involves school personnel, students, families, mental health practitioners, and community partners. 

● Manages and coordinates services, program development, and resources to meet project goals, related to mental health program development and expansion of service delivery for students. 

● Performs duties, as prescribed by law, within the policies established by Valentine Community Schools and the Code of Ethics 

● Works closely with school staff, mental health providers, and community partners to coordinate high quality service delivery to students. 

● Coordinates school staff trainings related to behavioral and mental health. 

● Oversees and manages project data to determine progress, outcomes, and impact; and meets appropriate data reporting timelines. 

● Assembles and reports project budget and expenditure information. 

● Manage invoices for budget and make monthly reimbursement requests to NDE. 

● Provides resources and technical assistance to instructional staff (materials, curriculum, etc.). 

● Supports and closely coordinates integration of mental health services. 

● Attend meetings as needed which may include staff meetings, 1184 meetings, 504, IEP, etc. 

● Participates in data collection on students served, services provided, and outcomes to monitor the overall performance and effectiveness of mental health services provided. 

● Assists the school-based mental health providers in identifying appropriate community-based services, and making coordinated referrals, arrangements, and follow-up. 

● Communicates effectively with students, parents, school staff, and mental health provider(s). 

● Assists students and families in identifying and accessing community organizations, services and supports; works with team members to coordinate services and monitor progress. 

● Other duties, as assigned. 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree preferred. Preference will be given if the degree is in a related field, such as social work, mental health counseling, psychology, or a human services-related field or education. Mental/ Behavioral Health background will be given preference. 

SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS: This position has no supervisory duties. Reports to, receives guidance and is evaluated by the administrative team at Valentine Community Schools.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: Knowledge of at-risk student characteristics and mental health needs. Skills in oral and written communication. Ability to be a team member with all staff. Must maintain confidentiality and ethics, as dictated by profession. Excellent communication, persuasive writing, editing and presentation skills. Strong project management and organizational skills. Excellent coordination and time management skills. Strong strategic and collaborative skills. Excellent analytical skills; able to quickly grasp and effectively communicate complex concepts. Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff at Valentine Community Schools, mental health providers, and community partners. Ability to excel in a team-based environment; experience working with remote teams preferred. Passionate about mental health services and program development; experience in mental health service delivery or programming a plus

TRAVEL AND SPECIAL CONDITIONS: Travel is required. Must maintain a driver's license and car insurance. 

SALARY RANGE: Dependent upon education and experience. Benefits will be included. 

HOURS PER DAY OR WEEK: 40 hours a week. May be required to work an altered schedule. Position will be year around, so some work in the summer will be required.
