Hello VCS 7th - 12th grade students and parents.  The North Central District Health Department would like to know if there is enough interest to provide students with Covid-19 vaccinations.  There is a short 3 question survey that we’d like you to submit.

Question number 1 - would you like to receive a vaccination?  This is a yes or no question.  Maybe is also an option.

Question number 2 - Please select your appropriate age range, or select I prefer not to answer.

Question number 3 - Please select Cherry County

Information from NCDHD follows:

Thus far, Pfizer vaccine is approved for anyone 16 years and older. It has been utilized in the metro areas of Nebraska. NCDHD is entering into further discussions on acquiring Pfizer vaccine for our area. Pfizer has also applied to the FDA to expand the use of their COVID-19 vaccine to anyone ages 12 and older. You can learn more about Pfizer expanding their vaccine use at: https://www.pfizer.com/news/press-release/press-release-detail/pfizer-biontech-announce-positive-topline-results-pivotal

Should NCDHD be able to proceed with this project, parent consent will be necessary to provide COVID-19 vaccine to those 18 and under. NCDHD is interested in partnering with schools to ensure student access to COVID-19 vaccine.

Thank you for assisting the NCDHD and Valentine Community Schools in determining whether there is a need for a local Covid-19 vaccine clinic for students in grades 7-12.  The link to the survey is found below, and will also be posted on our website.

Thank you for your assistance!
