VMS Volunteers, "Water Testing in Progress..."

In partnership with the Niobrara National Scenic River, VMS students have been doing water quality testing throughout the fall. They have gone out to the river a couple of times to test and other times, Mrs. Perrett has brought the water into school due to time and temperature. The Niobrara National Scenic River graciously donated shirts to students this week with a designed featured on the front inspired by VMS 7th grade student, Khaylia Short Bull and the back of the shirt stating, Niobrara National Scenic River Volunteer 'Water Testing In Progress...'

“We are so excited to partner with the Valentine Middle School Science class to conduct water quality testing on the Niobrara River.  The kids are doing real science in helping us care for this wild and scenic river.  We hope it is something that spurs their interests in learning other ways to help their community,” said Susan J. Cook, Program Manager for Interpretation, Education and Volunteers, Niobrara National Scenic River
