NWCA ANNOUNCES HIGH SCHOOL BOYS STATE ASSISTANT COACH OF THE YEAR AWARD  

Valentine High School's Assistant Coach, Jason Kelber has been named National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) High School Boys Assistant Coach of the Year for the state of Nebraska. In winning the State Assistant Coach of the Year honor, Coach Jason Kelber became a finalist for the NWCA Section 5 Boys Assistant Coach of the Year Award.   Coach Jason Kelber’s accomplishments include the following:  3rd state team title in a row, this is the first time that this has been accomplished in Nebraska for Class C.  Broke record for the most 3x state champions by a team in class C   “Our Scholastic Coach of the Year Awards Program which honors our nation’s coaches who work tirelessly on behalf of their athletes is one of my favorite NWCA initiatives.  At a time when coaches are needed now more than ever, we get to take time and thank the entire profession by recognizing their peers at the state, section, and national levels.  Thanks to those who we call Coach.” Mike Moyer, NWCA Executive Director
