The state of Nebraska has issued a Directed Health Measure (DHM) for the North Central District Health Department area which includes Cherry County.  While most people and businesses in Valentine have been following similar guidance issued earlier, gatherings of 10 or more people are now prohibited.  The prohibition does not include “typical office environments . . . or retail or grocery stores where large numbers of people are present but it is typically unusual for them to be within six feet of one another.”  In light of these developments, groups of 10 or more will be dispersed by law enforcement, including those on city parks and trails and public and school parking lots and playgrounds.  In furtherance of this DHM, camping at City Park will not be permitted and access to playground equipment is closed including the equipment, basketball courts, and facilities on school grounds.  The existing closure of City Park, and the Mill Pond area from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. and the existing curfew on minors will be strictly enforced.  The text of the DHM can be found on the web site of the North Central District Health Department (https://ncdhdne.wordpress.com/).  Thank you for your cooperation.
