The North Central District Health Department (NCDHD) has recommended that public and parochial schools in the NCDHD area begin a two week recess starting March 17, 2020. The incubation period for COVID-19 is two to fourteen days and for this reason, a minimum of two weeks closed would be necessary to disrupt the growth of the virus. Based on that recommendation, Valentine Community Schools will be closed for the next two weeks, resuming on March 31, 2020. Additional information will be forthcoming.
We ask that students and community engage in social distancing during this time. This would include staying home and limiting time with people from outside of their households. Keeping interactions to a bare minimum will help to disrupt the exposure period and periods of contagiousness.
