I love Play-Doh. I’m never sure who is more excited when we need new Play-Doh in our classroom, the kids or me! I love the bright colors. (Bright pink is my favorite!) I love the smell when I open a new container. I love the feel when I squish it between my fingers. While the following recipe doesn’t replicate Play-Doh’s smell, it makes a large batch and lasts a long time.
1 cup flour
½ cup salt
2 teaspoons cream of tarter
1 cup cold water
1 tablespoon oil
food coloring or Kool-Aid drink mix
Mix all the ingredients in a saucepan. Place over heat and stir constantly until the mixture thickens and forms a ball. Remove from heat and cool. Keep in a covered container.
