Valentine Rural Schools Speech Contest
“If I Were President” was the theme for the 2010 Modern Woodmen of America school speech contest. Valentine Rural Schools held its local contest on Friday, February 26, 2010 in the Valentine High School Auditorium. The speech contest was conducted in two divisions – elementary and junior high.
Elementary student participants included Riley Collier-German Settlement, Kortney Kronhofman-Simeon East, Slim Lincoln-Cutcomb Lake, Hadli Millar-German Settlement, Logan O’Kief-Wood Lake, Jaylynn Ravenscroft-Taylor Lake, Britley Schlueter-Wood Lake, and Ile Wilde-Simeon West. First place was won by Slim Lincoln, second place went to Logan O’Kief, and third place was Britley Schlueter. The first two finishers qualified to participate in the district level contest at Ainsworth.
Elementary division judges were Kristi Reimers, Bonnie Sadi, and Debbie Tehrani
Junior high student participants included JT Adamson-Cutcomb Lake, Michael Benscoter-Goose Creek, Allison Collier-German Settlement, Bailey Dexter-Simeon East, Ashley Hoffman-Simeon East, Jake O’Kief-Wood Lake, Amber Schell-Simeon East, and Jesse Schell-Simeon East.
First place was won by JT Adamson, second place went to Jake O’Kief, and third place was Bailey Dexter. The first two finishers qualified to participate in the district level contest at Ainsworth.
Junior high division judges were Chris Beckby, Suzy Beel, and Anita Johnston.
